LEWISTON, Maine — A woman died early this morning in an accident involving a pickup truck on Lisbon Street, according to police.
The pedestrian, identified as Christine Beaulieu, 53, of Lewiston, was struck, according to police, around 6:35 a.m. at 850 Lisbon St., near the entrance to the Lewiston mall.
The driver of the pickup truck was identified as Gaeton Bergeron, 33, of Lewiston, according to the Sun Journal.
According to investigators, Beaulieu was not in the crosswalk when she was hit, and Bergeron was not injured.
Lisbon Street from Eastern Avenue to Maple Street was closed Monday morning as police reconstructed the accident and was reopened before noon.
The investigation into Beaulieu’s death is ongoing, and it’s too early to say whether charges could be filed, police said.
