Game notes: The Black Bears look to stop a two-game skid on the heels of a 104-67 shellacking Saturday at Marquette. UMaine also will try to halt a three-game losing streak against the Big Green. Dartmouth topped America East member Hartford 74-65 on Saturday after losing to Vermont 68-63 on Dec. 2. The Bears want to tighten things up defensively, having surrendered 81 points or more in their last four outings. UMaine is likely to be without freshman forward Issac Vann, but senior guard Shaun Lawton made his debut Saturday after sitting out six games while serving a suspension for failing to meet team guidelines. His experience, size and athleticism should give UMaine more depth and another strong defensive presence. The Bears’ rebounding will be an important key against the Big Green, who also feature good depth. UMaine is gearing up for a string of road contests against Boston College, Fordham and Holy Cross.
