WESTBROOK, Maine — Local police later this week will be announcing a new initiative to combat the use of heroin, according to a statement released Monday.
Westbrook police will announce the new initiative at the Public Safety Building at 9 a.m. Thursday, and the public is invited to attend.
The focus will be on the prevention, intervention and enforcement of the use of heroin and other substances. Police also will announce a date, time and location of a public forum focused on substance abuse to be held in January.
