KINGFIELD, Maine — A tractor-trailer rolled over on Route 27 on Tuesday morning, spilling wood chips into the road, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Nathan Clement, 56, of Corinth was traveling north when a southbound car “hugging the center line” apparently approached him, causing him to swerve, Sheriff Scott Nichols said. The accident occurred around 6 a.m.

Clement’s rig, owned by JJ Raymond Transport of Dover-Foxcroft, went into the soft shoulder and rolled over, Nichols said.

Clement was not injured and Kingfield and Carrabassett Valley firefighters and Department of Transportation officials were called in to assist with cleaning up the chips, Nichols said. Jordan Lumber officials also helped in cleaning the chips up.

No passengers were in the truck, which was towed from the scene.
