CARIBOU, Maine — A batch of light freezing rain was expected to make travel conditions somewhat dicey in northern Maine on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service’s Caribou office reported areas north of Millinocket are expected to see the bulk of the freezing rain, while the greater Bangor area and points east will see mostly rain.

The weather service has posted a freezing rain advisory for Aroostook County and northern Somerset, Piscataquis and Penobscot counties, while areas of Washington County could see freezing rain as well.

The freezing rain advisory is in effect through 6 p.m. Thursday.

Areas in the southern part of the state are expected to see mainly rain.
