YORK, Maine — A woman was arrested and a man charged early Thursday after heroin and cocaine were found in a vehicle during a traffic stop on the Maine Turnpike, state police said.

Christopher Rickett, 29, of Portland was charged with possession of cocaine but not arrested, while a passenger not related to him, Sierrha Frisbie, 23, of Portland, was arrested, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

Rickett had been returning from New York and also had his wife and two young children in the car, McCausland said. Troopers pulled the vehicle over around 3 a.m. after it sped through the York toll plaza.

Upon a search of the car, Frisbie was found to be in possession of 50 grams of cocaine and heroin, McCausland said. She was arrested and charged with unlawful trafficking of cocaine and heroin.

Rickett and his family were allowed to drive home after he received his citation and the drugs were seized from the vehicle and Frisbie taken into custody, McCausland said. Frisbie was taken to the York County Jail.
