The Boilermakers, who are 38th in the RPI rankings, are a typical Versyp team built around defense. Purdue, which has won three in a row, is giving up 53.5 ppg on 36 percent shooting. Game notes: The Black Bears will try to get back on the winning track after Saturday’s 70-53 setback at Fordham, which was their fifth in a row. UMaine committed 27 turnovers in that contest. Holy Cross of the Patriot League halted a three-game skid with a 90-68 victory over Hartford of America East on Dec. 12. The Crusaders also have lost to UMaine rivals New Hampshire and Albany. This could be a high-scoring affair, as both teams are allowing opponents to shoot at least 46 percent. Little broke loose for a career-high 25 points at Fordham, but the Bears couldn’t find other consistent scorers.
