LEWISTON, Maine — Police say they responded to a report of a 2-year-old boy who was run over by a car in Lewiston Monday morning.
Officials say it happened outside the Hillview Apartments on Rideout Avenue around 11:40 a.m.
According to the Sun Journal, before police could respond, the child, who was believed to have suffered a head injury, was moved inside to an apartment.
According to the Sun Journal, a man was backing out of a parking space at the apartments and didn’t realize his 2-year-old son was behind him. The man backed over the child.
The child has been transported to a local hospital.
