BELFAST, Maine — City police are investigating a pair of church burglaries that occurred on Monday, according to Belfast police Detective Bryan Cunningham.
Cunningham said forced entry was involved in each case. He declined to name the churches that were broken into or say whether the perpetrator got away with anything.
Cunningham did say it appears the burglar was looking for cash.
No charges have been filed but police are working on leads, Cunningham said.
“We have a suspect in mind but we’re not sure,” he added.
