WESLEY, Maine — The state’s 54th meth lab of 2015 was discovered in Washington County on Wednesday, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

County deputies were attempting to serve a warrant when the suspected meth lab was found in a mobile home on Route 9 near the Route 192 intersection, McCausland said.

The home was searched by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency officials, who found evidence of meth manufacturing, McCausland said.

No charges have been filed, but the incident remains under investigation.

In addition to the MDEA and Washington County sheriff’s deputies, the Maine Forest Service and Maine Department of Environmental Protection responded.

The 54 meth lab responses of 2015 is an all-time record.
