AUBURN, Maine — A fire at a house on Old Danville Road destroyed a barn Saturday night but no one was hurt, according to officials.
The homeowner, a horse and a dog got out of the house safely, but several cats were missing, Deputy fire Chief Geoff Low said.
Firefighters bumped the fire up to two alarms because of the extent of the fire and the difficulty responders had getting water to the scene, Low said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
