BANGOR, Maine — A man accused of burglarizing several homes on Bangor’s East Side was indicted by a Penobscot County grand jury Wednesday on 20 related charges.

Nelson Keyser, 24, of Bangor was arrested on Sept. 18 in connection with late summer break-ins in the neighborhood.

On Wednesday, the grand jury indicted Keyser on nine counts of burglary, 10 counts each of theft by unauthorized taking and violating the conditions of his release from a prior arrest, and one count of theft by deception.

Bangor police Sgt. Tim Cotton said earlier that the burglaries occurred when no one was home.

Keyser has a rap sheet dating to 2011, according to Bangor Daily News archives. In Augusta 2014, he was indicted on charges of aggravated forgery, motor vehicle burglary and two counts of theft. He also has a 2011 drug charge on his record.
