ROCKLAND, Maine — William Butler began his new job as Rockland’s assistant code enforcement officer on the final day of the year.
Butler has worked for the Maine Department of Environmental Protection since 1992. Butler’s duties for many of those years was to inspect the city’s solid waste facilities.
Before joining the DEP, Butler served as code enforcement officer for several communities beginning with Glenburn. His last code job before being hired by the state was with Hallowell.
The Jefferson resident succeeds David Kalloch who retired a little more than two months ago.
