BANGOR, Maine — Catcher Blake Swihart and first baseman Travis Shaw, two promising young Boston Red Sox players, will be at Husson University’s Grace Theatre for an evening of baseball talk with sports fans at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21.
The event, “An Evening with the Young Guns of the Red Sox,” includes a VIP meet-and-greet followed by a hot stove session that will review stories and inside information from past seasons and take a look ahead to the 2016 season. Fans will also have an opportunity to ask questions during the hot stove event.
Swihart had a .274 batting average in 84 games with the Red Sox last season with five home runs and 31 RBIs. He spent the 2014 season with the Portland Sea Dogs, Boston’s Double-A affiliate, and hit .300 with 12 homers and 55 RBIs in 92 games.
Shaw played in 65 games for the Red Sox last season and had a .270 average with 13 homers and 36 RBIs. He had spent parts of three seasons with the Sea Dogs.
