SANTA CRUZ, California — The Maine Red Claws started the NBA D-League Showcase 2016 on the right foot Thursday with a convincing 110-97 win over the Bakersfield Jam at Kaiser Permanente Arena.

The Red Claws (12-7) were led by their two players on assignment from the Boston Celtics. Terry Rozier led Maine with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists, and Jordan Mickey added another double-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.

Malcolm Miller finished with 15 points for the Red Claws, while Omari Johnson and Coty Clarke each added 12 points. Levi Randolph and Coron Williams each scored 10 for Maine, which shot 49 percent (40-for-81) from the floor, and 38 percent (14-for-37) from 3-point range.

Bakersfield (11-10) was led by Earl Clark, whose 28 points led all scorers. Xavier Munford, a former draft pick of the Red Claws, added 18 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds.

The Red Claws next and final Showcase game will be Sunday against Reno at 8 p.m.
