AUGUSTA, Maine — City police have arrested a man in connection with a pair of recent burglaries, according to a statement.
James Wilbur, 32, had several extraditable warrants from out of state and a probation violation from Wisconsin, according to the statement.
In attempts to locate Wilbur, Augusta police detectives received information that he had been staying in a local hotel, and upon arrival on Tuesday, police learned he had left to take a bus out of town, according to an updated statement prepared by Sgt. Christian Behr.
Detectives were able to stop the bus along Interstate 95, and Wilbur was found and taken into custody, Behr’s statement said.
Behr added several tips from the public also led to the arrest. Further information on Wilbur’s arrest was not disclosed.
