LAMOINE, Maine — Two juveniles and 18 minors ranging in age from 18 to 20 years old are facing charges following an underage drinking bust Friday night, according to police.

A party on Quail Lane came to police attention when someone called regional dispatchers in Ellsworth around 10:45 p.m. Friday to report suspicious vehicle traffic on nearby Woodcock Lane, according to a prepared statement released Monday morning by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputy Jacob Day responded and came across a line of approximately 25 vehicles preparing to drive away from Woodcock Lane, which is a dead-end road that serves a residential subdivision off Mud Creek Road. The deputy stopped and spoke to people in the first vehicle in the line and, based upon his observations and information he was provided, estimated that 50 people had attended and were leaving a party where minors and juveniles were drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.

Day called for backup but, before other deputies arrived, two vehicles left the scene and several people ran off from the line of cars into the nearby woods, according to the release.

In all, 19 people were charged with illegal possession of liquor by a minor but only two were arrested. One of them, Benjamin Morren, 20, of Lamoine, was identified as the host of the party. He was arrested on the possession charge and on a charge of providing a place for minors to consume alcohol.

Beckton Brownlow, 20, of Blue Hill, also was arrested. He was charged with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor and with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, operating without a license, operating after suspension and violating conditions of release.

Jordan Lord, 20, of Brooklin, was summoned on a charge of illegal transportation of liquor by a minor but was not charged with possession.

Police did not identify two juveniles summoned on charges of illegal possession of liquor by a minor, one from Holden and another from Bangor, because they are under the age of 18.

People between the ages of 18 and 20 who were summoned with illegal possession of liquor by a minor include:

— Alexander Braley, 18, Ellsworth.

— Mariah Brown, 18, Ellsworth.

— Miranda Davis, 18, Ellsworth.

— Cody Delconte, 20, Hancock.

— Mitchell Domagala, 19, Ellsworth.

— John Fenl, 19, Ellsworth.

— Madeline Hart, 18, Ellsworth.

— Courtney King, 18, Ellsworth.

— Sally Lockhart, 19, Sullivan.
