BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 33-year-old Brunswick man was arrested Monday evening and charged with aggravated assault after a woman reported to police that he allegedly tried to strangle her several days earlier.
Kevin Michaud, 33, of Brunswick was charged with domestic violence aggravated assault, a Class B felony, Brunswick police Capt. Mark Waltz said Tuesday.
Officers went to Michaud’s home just after 6 p.m. Monday after the alleged victim called to report the assault, Waltz said. Michaud was subsequently arrested and taken to Cumberland County Jail, where he was held without bail.
Michaud is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County Unified Criminal Court on March 5.
