YORK, Maine — A Biddeford woman and a Massachusetts man were arrested Thursday in connection with the alleged distribution of heroin and crack cocaine into York County, according to the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.

Marquis Nevins, 36, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, and Kelly Anderson, 49, of Biddeford were arrested following a traffic stop on the Maine Turnpike, according to MDEA Cmdr. Scott Pelletier.

Nevins and Anderson each face a charge of aggravated trafficking in heroin and crack cocaine, a Class A offense.

An investigation into drug dealing from Anderson’s Biddeford residence has occurred over the last six months, and she allegedly would drive out-of-state distributors to Lowell, Massachusetts, to purchase heroin and crack cocaine for resale, according to Pelletier.

Anderson’s vehicle was pulled over in York on Friday on a return trip north from the Bay State, and a drug-sniffing dog alerted police about possible drugs in the vehicle, Pelletier said.

Nevins was in possession of 21 grams of heroin and 60 grams of crack cocaine, worth $10,000, and $3,400 in suspected drug transactions also were seized, Pelletier said.

Both were brought to the York County Jail, where they remained Friday. Bail was set at $10,000 cash.
