ORIENT, Maine — A Presque Isle man escaped major injury Monday night when the tractor-trailer he was driving overturned on Route 1 in Orient, state police said.

Timothy Brown, 49, was traveling north when his tires got caught in the snow on the shoulder, Sgt. Brian Harris said.

Brown’s trailer was not loaded when his rig went into a ditch, striking several trees before coming to a rest down a steep embankment, Harris said.

Brown declined medical treatment despite complaining of knee pain. The truck had major damage and was towed from the scene.
