BANGOR, Maine — An Old Town woman was indicted Wednesday by the Penobscot County grand jury on one count each of theft by unauthorized taking, forgery and misuse of identification.

Samantha Morin, 21, is accused of using her grandmother’s credit card without permission to purchase about $12,000 in gift cards between Oct. 29 and Dec. 4, 2015, according to Alice Clifford, deputy district attorney for Penobscot County.

The prosecutor said she did not know what Morin did with the gift cards.

An arraignment date for Morin has not been set.

If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $20,000. She also could be ordered to pay restitution.
