ROCKLAND, Maine — The City Council will be asked next month to confirm the appointment of a new assessor.
Doreen French has been nominated by City Manager James Chaousis to replace Dennis Reed, who retired this week after 10 years with the city.
French is an assessing technician in Hermon.
The assessor is one of the few positions that must be confirmed by the council. A confirmation vote will take place at the council’s Feb. 8 meeting.
