MILLINOCKET, Maine — A local woman was charged with drunken driving and her boyfriend with domestic violence assault after police were called to a residence on Congress Street late Wednesday, police said.

Tracy Ross, 35, of Millinocket, was charged Thursday with driving a motor vehicle under the influence, while her boyfriend, Michael Lyons, 33, of Millinocket, was charged with domestic violence assault.

Police were called to the residence at about 11 p.m. after they were told that Ross and Lyons had gone there in search of a family member. When officers arrived, they found Ross, who appeared intoxicated and who allegedly admitted to have driven there from a local bar, Police Chief Steve Kenyon said.

Kenyon said police ran a blood-alcohol content test on Ross and found that she had a BAC level of .22. The legal limit is .08. Police charged Lyons with assault after Ross alleged that he had grabbed her during a family fight, Kenyon said.

Both are due in Millinocket District Court on March 9, Kenyon said.
