PORTLAND, Maine — City police are looking for a suspect who held up the CVS Pharmacy on Forest Avenue at knifepoint on Thursday night.

According to a Portland police statement, the lone robber displayed a knife and demanded cash shortly after 6 p.m.

The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of money, and a canine track led police to an apartment complex on nearby Dartmouth Street.

While the suspect was not found, evidence was gathered at the apartment. No injuries were reported. Police said the victims’ cooperation with the robber’s demands prevented serious injury.

The suspect is a white man standing 5 feet 10 inches tall. He has a medium build and was wearing a long-sleeved white and tan plaid shirt, beige winter hat over a Patriots hat, dark gray or black sweatpants and black shoes and a black scarf covered his face.

Anyone with information should call Portland police at 874-8533.
