Game notes: The Black Bears, coming off Wednesday’s 100-95 overtime win at Hartford, seek their fifth home victory of the season. UMaine has scored 90 points or more in five of its last nine contests. The Bearcats have won two straight after beating UMBC 66-57 on Wednesday. Binghamton has played solid defense (64.4 ppg allowed in league play), which is a contrast to the high-flying Black Bears, who are scoring 82.0 ppg in AE games. That means the team that is able to best impose its style of play is likely to have the upper hand. UMaine is averaging 78.3 possessions per 40 minutes, which ranks third in all of Division I according to the Pomeroy ratings, while Binghamton’s 67.2 ranks No. 277.

Binghamton has won four of six, but lost 62-51 at UMBC on Wednesday. The Bearcats are 6-1 at home this season. In league play, UMaine is averaging 62.6 ppg and allowing only 50.1 ppg. BU has made 35 percent of its 3-pointers in AE games while limiting opponents to 24 percent shooting from the arc.
