PORTLAND, Maine — A 65-foot fishing boat with four people aboard was rescued on Thursday 45 miles southeast of Portland, officials said.

According to a statement from the Coast Guard, a crew member aboard the vessel Jocka used a radio to contact Coast Guard members Wednesday morning, reporting their engine had been disabled.

A Coast Guard cutter arrived Wednesday afternoon, but it could not tow the boat because of weather conditions. Another cutter was able to arrive at 6:00 a.m. Thursday.

Weather conditions, which included 20-knot winds and seas at 10 feet, made for a challenging tow, according to the Coast Guard.

The Jocka is based in Rockport, Massachusetts. No injuries were reported.
