FORT KENT — The University of Maine-Fort Kent men’s basketball team earned its 20th win of the season on Wednesday by virtue of a 72-61 victory over rival UMaine-Presque Isle.
Qaadir Ali scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half and Mauro Vicic hit three second-half 3-pointers on his way to 12 points for the Bengals, who hit 20 wins for the first time since 2010-2011. UMFK now waits to find out if it will gain a national tournament berth.
Marquis Glenn scored 13 points and Joe McCloskey had 10 for the winners.
UMPI was led by Maurice Harris, who tallied 14 points.
