UNION, Maine — The Knox County Sheriff’s Office has released the sketch of a woman who is suspected of being connected to a Wednesday evening home invasion.

The woman knocked on the door of the victim’s home shortly before the robbery and asked whether a specific man was there, Sheriff Donna Dennison said Saturday morning.

A few minutes later, there was another knock on the door of the home on the Sennebec Road, and a man pushed his way in and assaulted the 22-year-old woman who was at the residence.

The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m.

The man allegedly stole an undetermined amount of money and several unspecified items with the value of the money and items totaling several thousand dollars.

There no weapon was displayed.

The woman complained of a sore neck.

The sheriff said five car burglaries that occurred Wednesday night to vehicles on Appleton and Town Hill roads in Union and Chaples and Sleepy Hollow roads in Appleton are suspected of also being connected to the home invasion.

Deputies have several leads and the investigation continues, the sheriff said.

The sketch was done by sketch artist Detective Dan Reed of Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office.
