MACHIAS, Maine — Local firefighters are battling a blaze at residence on Center Street, according to Washington County dispatch.
The fire was reported at 5:54 a.m.
Firefighters from neighboring communities have been called in to assist.
The temperature at 8 a.m. in Machias was 8 degrees below zero, according to the National Weather Service in Caribou.
