EDDINGTON, Maine — Preventive maintenance work on its tower on Blackcap Mountain prompted a temporary interruption Thursday of Maine Public Radio’s signal in Greater Bangor, a Maine Public Broadcasting Network official said.
The broadcast from Bangor affiliate WMEH, which serves listeners in a roughly 60-mile radius of Bangor, was down from around 2 p.m. to shortly before 4 p.m., according to Gil Maxwell, MPBN’s chief technology officer.
Maxwell said that a similar interruption will occur from about 8 a.m. through early afternoon on Friday.
Affected listeners who want to hear Maine Public Radio broadcasts during the planned interruption can do so by accessing the On-Demand tab on MPBN’s website.
