BANGOR, Maine — Two men whose Bangor apartment was found by police Wednesday to be a suspected methamphetamine lab are facing drug charges, police said Friday.

Maine Drug Enforcement Agency agents charged Brian Hovey, 33, and Thomas Beaudoin, 27, with aggravated trafficking in methamphetamine. The two men remain at the Penobscot County Jail and will make their first court appearance later Friday in Bangor court.

Their apartment at 149 Pine St. was searched Wednesday after Bangor police checked on the two men and found evidence of a meth lab inside the apartment. That discovery resulted in the evacuation of several other apartments in the building, while the men’s apartment was searched.

The two men were arrested Wednesday on probation violation charges.
