LINCOLN – Donald G.Worcester, son of Donald G. and Nellie (Burrell) Worcester went to join his loving parents on Feb.17, 2016.
Born on October 11, 1950 in Lincoln he is survived by his wife Maxine Pelletier Worcester and daughter Amanda Jo; sister, Carolee and her husband Harvard Corro; beloved niece Kerri Corro Lynch and husband Joey; nephew Lee Corro and his wife Rosemary; many great nieces and nephews and cousins; brother-in-law Larry Pelletier and his wife Kathy; sister-in-law, Judy Curtis and her husband Roland “Mike” and family in Florida. He was predeceased by a niece Lindsay Corro.
He lived all his life working in the family business Worcester Brothers, until recently when he worked for MODA and W.S.Emerson. He was involved in every possible civic event in the community and was one of the biggest boosters MA and Lincoln have ever seen. He served on boards, committees, led civic organizations both local and national, way too numerous to mention. The words “No” or “I can’t possibly” rarely passed his lips. At the end of the day, his legacy is not the hundreds of volunteer hours or piles of awards he was given, it is the spirit of love and volunteerism he inspired in so many. His most recent project was Honoring Hometown Heroes to raise funds for the Gary Gordon Memorial.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Don’s memory to anyone of the following: Gary Gordon Memorial Fund, Silent Sidekicks, or Donald G. Worcester, Sr. Scholarship. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb 21 at Clay Funeral Home,7 Lee Road, Lincoln, Maine. Funeral services will be there Monday Feb.22 at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Joshua Sander officiating. Refreshment will be served at the First Congregational Church on School Street after the funeral. Private committal services will be held at a later date.
