GRAND ISLE, Maine — A 35-year-old Grand Isle man rolled over his pickup truck after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel Friday.
Patrick Gendreau was traveling southbound on Route 1 in Grand Isle at about 12:30 a.m. when the crash took place, according to a news release issued by Maine State Police Troop F in Houlton.
The 2000 GMC pickup he was driving left the roadway, hitting an embankment and trees, which caused the vehicle to roll over, police said.
Gendreau suffered injuries to both legs and minor cuts to his face and hands and walked home from the scene.
At about 2:45 a.m., a passer-by saw Gendreau’s vehicle and called to report the crash.
Police charged Gendreau with failing to report a crash by the quickest means.
