GRAY, Maine — A low-pressure system is expected to bring snow and rain to the state later this the week, according to the National Weather Service.

Light snow is expected to arrive throughout the state as early as Wednesday, according to the weather service.

With temperatures expected to warm by Thursday, the precipitation will likely change over to rain.

Heavy rain is expected throughout the state Thursday, and water levels could rise on some rivers.

In addition to heavy rain, strong winds also are possible.
