GREENVILLE – Carmel Smith formally of Greenville who resided in West Gardiner passed away peacefully on Feb 19, 2016 after a short stay at the Graybirch Nursing Facility in Augusta, Me. She was born in Greenville where she resided most of her life with her husband, Lyman for most of 50 years.
She is predeceased by her husband, Lyman; sister, Winnifred Sawyer; and great grandson, Bailey Locke.
She is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Estabrook of West Gardiner, and Linda Bartley of FL; a son, Perry Smith of FL; and a stepson, Charles Smith, and their families; two sisters, Francis Davis of Greenville; and Rita Roux of North Vassalboro; one brother, Lorenzo Perry of New Hampsire, and their families; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Much thanks to the ever patient and kind staff at the Graybirch Nursing facility.
Carmel will be greatly missed for her strong supportive ways, her spirited conversations and her happy nature and lovely smile. She was a firm believer in the bible and God’s promises of resurrection to a restored paradise earth where those who served their Creator would live forever in peaceful happiness with no death, sickness or suffering as Psalms 37:10, 11 and Revelation 21: 3,4 relate.
A memorial service will be held at the kingdom hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 8 Cross Hill Road, Augusta, ME, on March 12, 2016 at 3:00 PM.
