BIDDEFORD, Maine — A New York City man has been arrested in connection with the murder of two men in Biddeford in the summer of 2014, according to state police.

Fuquan Prince Wilson, 36, was arrested in New York on Monday and charged with two counts of murder, according to Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland.

Fuquan was wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of Russell Lavoie, 42, and Jeffrey Lude, 37, inside an apartment in July 2014.

Fuquan disappeared after the shooting and his photo and description were later released to the public by state police, McCausland said. He was originally wanted on a charge of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, but was secretly indicted by a grand jury on the murder charges in February.

Fuquan is being held at the Manhattan Detention Center and extradition proceedings to return him to Maine will begin soon, McCausland said.
