WEST ENFIELD, Maine — A man suspected of holding up the Penobscot County Federal Credit Union on Bridge Street on Monday remained on the loose Tuesday.

Detective Sgt. Andy Whitehouse of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday police do not have any updates on the case.

The alleged robbery occurred shortly after 8 a.m. Monday, and the robber, who was wearing a surgical mask to conceal most of his face, got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

A state police dog combed the area for the suspect Monday, but he was not found.

The suspect is a white man standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing between 185 and 200 pounds. He has dark hair and was wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, dark-rimmed glasses, dark gloves, blue jeans and gray-blue sneakers.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 945-4636. The credit union is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
