YORK COUNTY — Results are still coming in for a special election in southern Maine.

Democrat Susan Deschambault is running against Republican Stephen Martin for the District 32 state Senate seat.

District 32, which covers the city of Biddeford and the towns of Alfred, Arundel, Dayton, Kennebunkport and Lyman, was previously held by Sen. David Dutremble of Biddeford, who resigned his position on Jan. 28.

Dutremble said he wanted to focus on his family and his battle with alcoholism.

Shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday, Deschambault held the lead with 1,620 votes.

Martin had 1,117 votes.

Results from Arundel had not yet come in.
