Making sure that residents receive important information — such as construction schedules, road closures or what’s happening at the city council — is a vital part of any city’s communication efforts, especially here in Maine.

Now, the city of Bangor wants your feedback. It wants to know what you think is the best way for the city to reach out to its residents.

If you are a resident of Bangor, please take the brief survey available at this link.

This year, I will be conducting research in collaboration with the city of Bangor. The research will examine which methods of communication Bangor residents prefer when it comes to hearing from the city, as well as what types of information residents want to know.

This research will help decision makers in Bangor hone their community outreach methods to ensure that residents are getting the information they need.

All responses to the survey above will be anonymous. You also can learn more about your protections as a participant in the survey.

As a thank you for your participation, you will have the option of entering a drawing to win one of multiple $25 gift cards to a local restaurant or business within Bangor.

Key findings and policy suggestions will be presented before Bangor City Council and distributed publicly via the Bangor Daily News once the research has been completed.
