BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 52-year-old man was arrested at his home early Thursday morning and charged with aggravated assault after allegedly attempting to strangle his wife.
Jack Naipier-Kane was charged with the Class B felony, as well as with misdemeanor criminal restraint after allegedly holding his wife down against her will, Brunswick police Cmdr. Marc Hagan said.
Officers went to the couple’s home just before 1:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a domestic disturbance.
“She reported that Mr. Naipier-Kane had assaulted her and officers saw signs of strangulation,” Hagan said. “She also reported that she’d been held down against her will.”
Brunswick EMS personnel examined the 48-year-old woman at the scene.
