ELLSWORTH, Maine — Drugs are suspected in the death of a Cherryfield man whose body was found Thursday morning at a local hotel.

Brendon Bubar, 28, was found in a room at the Colonial Inn around 8:30 a.m. Thursday, according to the Ellsworth Police Department.

Sgt. Glenn Moshier said Friday that there was evidence in the room of drug use and that drugs are suspected in playing a role in Bubar’s death.

The case remains under investigation and the body is being examined by the state medical examiner’s office to see if an official cause of death can be determined.
