BANGOR, Maine — Emera Maine and Central Maine Power crews still have 4,200 customers without power Sunday evening after strong winds knocked out power to more than 30,000 customers during the day.

Most of the outages were the result of tree branches that came down on power lines.

Emera Maine said 1,139 customers were without power as of about 11:20 p.m. and CMP reported 3,061 customers without power late Sunday night.

The public is urged to slow down or move over and change lanes if possible while approaching utility crews working on roadways.
