BANGOR, Maine — Inclement weather in New York City prompted an Airbus A380 to touch down at Bangor International Airport on Sunday morning, Director Tony Caruso said.
The flight originated in Abu Dhabi and was carrying 494 passengers and crew members, Caruso said, adding that the plane was the first of its kind to land at the city airport.
The plane landed shortly before 10 a.m. and remained in Bangor for about an hour, he said. While here, the plane underwent refueling and routine maintenance.
Passengers and crew members remained in the plane while it was in Bangor.
