WEST ENFIELD, Maine — The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of holding up the Penobscot County Federal Credit Union on Bridge Street on March 28.
The robbery occurred shortly after 8 a.m., and the robber, who was wearing a surgical mask to conceal most of his face, got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The sheriff’s office on Thursday released a surveillance video showing the suspect.
The suspect is a white man standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing between 185 and 200 pounds. He has dark hair and was wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, dark-rimmed glasses, dark gloves, blue jeans and gray-blue sneakers.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 945-4636. The credit union is offering a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
The credit union has branches in Bangor, Old Town and West Enfield, according to its website.
The last robbery reported at a branch occurred in January 2011. A man was sentenced to five years in prison for that robbery.
