SOUTH BERWICK, Maine — Nearly two years after he was first arrested on charges relating to videotaping up the skirts of female teenage students, former Berwick Academy teacher and coach Brian Sanborn was sentenced last month to serve 30 days in jail.
Sanborn, 55, of Sanford, faced 10 counts of invasion of privacy, alleging that over an 18-month period he surreptitiously videotaped images of unsuspecting female students using a hand-held camera and downloaded them onto his school computer. He was first arrested in connection with the incidents in May 2014.
According to South Berwick Police Chief Dana Lajoie, the charges were filed following a forensic examination of Sanborn’s computer. He said there is more than one victim and the counts reflect numerous incidents.
