TRENTON, New Jersey — Lane Adams led off the eighth inning with a solo home run, accounting for the game’s only run as the Trenton Thunder edged the Portland Sea Dogs 1-0 in an Eastern League baseball game Thursday night at Arm & Hammer Park.
Matt Tracy (1-0) earned the win for the Thunder (4-2), working 1⅔ innings of one-hit scoreless relief. Brady Lail tossed 6⅔ innings for Trenton and gave up only four hits and three walks with four strikeouts.
Rob Wort (0-1) yielded the homer and took the loss for the Sea Dogs (3-4).
Henry Ramos and Jose Vinicio each had two hits for Portland, which left seven men on base and went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Justin Haley fanned six for Portland over 4.1 innings, leaving the game with two outs in the fifth inning. Haley had worked out of a jam in the fourth inning with two on and nobody out, fanning the final three batters.
