ROCKLAND, Maine — A Rockport woman was arrested Monday night after police said she drove under the influence of drugs with her child in the vehicle.

Annie Gross, 28, was charged with operating under the influence and endangering the welfare of a child, according to court records.

Gross was arrested after an officer was sent to a Rockland restaurant when a worker suspected the woman was under the influence, according to Rockland police Sgt. Donald Finnegan.

The woman was found outside the restaurant in her car. Finnegan said in cases such as this, a family or friend is called to pick up the child.

Gross was released from the Knox County Jail on Tuesday morning.
