BREWER, Maine — Police are investigating a rash of vehicle burglaries that occurred overnight Tuesday, Brewer police Capt. Chris Martin said Wednesday.
Martin said nine vehicle burglaries and one garage burglary were reported Tuesday night, occurring in the areas of Chamberlain, North Main, South Main, Getchell and Parker streets.
Martin would not disclose what items were taken, but he said there is no reason to believe the public is in any danger.
All the vehicles in this case were unlocked when they were broken into, according to Martin.
Police are urging the public to keep valuables out of sight, to keep vehicles locked and to report any suspicious activity.
Later Wednesday, Brewer police released surveillance system images on their Facebook page of a person of interest in the case they are attempting to identify.
No arrests have been made in connection with the burglaries, and anybody with knowledge of the incidents should call Brewer police at 989-7003.
