FARMINGTON, Maine — Alannah Healy pitched a four-hit shutout in the first game, leading Husson University to a 7-0 victory in the first game en route to a North Atlantic Conference sweep of the University of Maine-Farmington.
Husson won the second game 13-4 in five innings.
In Game 1, Healy struck out one and did not walk a batter and was backed by a 12-hit attack. Sami Cyr paced the Eagles (10-18, 6-4 NAC) with a solo home run and a double, while Nicole Andrade (2 doubles) and Erika Parker each drove in a run. Lyndsay Merrill added two singles.
Alison Hamilton doubled for the Beavers (3-16, 0-4 NAC) and Kailyn Hill was the losing pitcher.
In the nightcap, Parker knocked in three runs on a two-run single and a sacrifice fly to pace Husson. Merrill cranked a two-run homer, Cyr (RBI) and Heath each doubled and singled, and Kristen Chipman singled twice.
Healy pitched the first 4 ⅔ innings to pick up the victory.
Tasha DeRoche hit two singles with an RBI and Hamilton provided a two-run single for the Beavers behind losing pitcher Emily Vitone.
Baseball
Bowdoin 8, Husson 2
At Pickard Field in Brunswick, the Polar Bears scored four runs in the first inning and four pitchers made them hold up in the victory.
Michael Steas (3-3) pitched six innings of three-hit ball, allowing only one run, with four strikeouts and two walks. Colby Joncas hit a double and two singles (RBI) for Bowdoin (15-10), while Chad Martin hit a run-scoring double and a solo home run.
Peter Cimini added a single and two RBIs for the winners.
J.T. Whitten stroked two doubles for Husson University of Bangor (15-13). Starter Tommy Burns (1-3) took the loss.

Lee plans to stay in NBA draft
Junior forward Marcus Lee intends to remain in the NBA draft and discussed the decision with Kentucky coach John Calipari.
Lee was a coveted college recruit but as a role player for the loaded Wildcats averaged just 6.4 points and 6.0 rebounds per game last season.
The 6-foot-9 forward said he still hasn’t hired an agent, but is intent on staying in the draft.
“I want to keep my eligibility just in case I decide to come back, but my plan is to go to the NBA. That’s the only goal,” Lee told ESPN.
In the annual exodus from Lexington, Kentucky is losing starting guards Tyler Ulis and Jamal Murray plus Skal Labissiere. All three hired agents.
Several others declared for the draft without hiring an agent to take advantage of a new rule giving players 10 days after the NBA combine in May to make their decision on early entry.
Lee is not projected as a first-round draft pick. That means going to the NBA becomes a big bet on his development with a non-guaranteed contract.
“It obviously depends on the feedback I get, but it doesn’t necessarily depend on the actual number they project for me,” Lee told ESPN. “I know I need to develop in some areas. For me, it is about finding the team that is the right fit and wants me to develop in their system.”
