PORTLAND, Maine — Elite Airways is announcing new routes and destinations from the Portland International Jetport, including direct flights to Bar Harbor and Long Island, New York.
The airline flies directly to Florida from Portland, but the company announced Friday its plans to expand its service.
The company’s president, John Pearsall, said there is an untapped market to both destinations.
“There are a lot of folks who like to go to Fire Island, for example, or down to Long Island for the Hamptons for the weekend and vice versa. There’s a lot of folks on Long Island that like to come up to Casco Bay and up through Bar Harbor that will enjoy the Maine summer,” Pearsall said.
Flights to Bar Harbor will cost $69, $79 to Long Island.
The new service is scheduled to begin June 17.
